Kurt Warner visited the 49ers on Monday. Warner is claiming that his situation isn’t about the money.
However, do you really believe at this stage in Warner’s career that he wants to play for a team rebuilding?
Warner is obviously using the 49ers as leverage to get the 29 million contract instead of the 20 million Arizona is offering. I love Kurt Warner, but he is being a hypocrite by pretending that’s its not about the money.
I still expect Warner to sign with Arizona eventually this off-season, so no need to panic yet Cardinal’s fans.
In other news, DE Jason Taylor was cut by the Redskins for refusing to commit to the team’s off-season workout program.
Anyone could see that Jason Taylor was to busy dancing with the stars to be serious about playing football last year.
However, despite that Redskins owner Daniel Snyder thought differently and traded for him anyway. We all know how that turned out.
On Monday T. J. Houshmandzadeh signed a five-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks.
This is great move by Seattle. Houshmandzadeh is one of the most reliable receivers in the league, and gives Matt Hasselbeck that number one receiver he has desperately needed.
In other news, forwards Drew Gooden’s and Joe Smith’s contracts were bought out on Monday. Rumors are that the Mavericks and Spurs are heavily interested in signing Gooden, while Smith is likely to sign with the Cavaliers.
While these buyouts might not seem like big news, these players could add vital depth to teams with title hopes.
