According to reports, a trade was proposed by Denver that would have sent Denver quarterback Jay Cutler to Tampa Bay and Matt Cassel to Denver.

Jay Cutler has already rightfully voiced his unhappiness with the situation and now wants out of Denver. But why on earth would Denver want Cassel over Cutler?

Obviously former offensive coordinator Josh Mcdaniel wanted to reunite with him.

However, Cutler is a very young quarterback, with a laser rocket arm. He has gotten better every year since he’s been in the league, and he has the potential to be great.

Cassel is in reality a one year wonder right now, who had the benefit of playing with the best offense in the NFL last year. Cassel may end up being great, but choosing him over Cutler is not only disrespectful, but idiotic.

I still don’t understand how this trade wasn’t accepted by the Patriots.

According to reports, the proposal would have given the Patriots Denver’s 12th pick in the draft.

So far I have heard three possible reasons why.

1. Maybe the Patriots didn’t want to send Cassel to a team that could possibly be a contender?

2. Maybe Bill Belichick didn’t want to spend more money on another first round draft pick?

3. Maybe, the Patriots had already verbally agreed to a deal with the Chiefs, since Vrabel was in Kansas City already on Friday.

But either way, with Scott Pioli being the former vice president of the Patriots, something seems fishy about the situation.

In other news, Shaq continued his dominance by scoring 33 points to give the Suns their best win of the season against the Lakers.

If the Sun’s can move past the Mavericks for the 8th seed, we might be looking at a Kobe-Shaq first round match-up.

If that happens, David Stern is going to be quite a happy man.

Shaq has amazingly had 78 points in the last two games, and maybe the Sun’s won’t miss Amare Stoudemire after all.

Without Amare Stoudamire, Shaq is getting more touches and space to dominate in the lane. While Amare’s replacement Louis Amundson is playing great defense, hustling, and giving the Sun’s that x-factor they need.
